What is Christian Academy in Japan? — Christian Education × American Curriculum

About Christian Academy in Japan

Christian Academy in Japan (CAJ) was established in 1950 to provide Christ-centered education for the children of evangelical missionaries. Today, in addition to missionary families, the school also welcomes students from general families who seek a Christian education. CAJ follows a North American curriculum with English as the language of instruction and has an enrollment of approximately 450 students.

In addition, CAJ offers Parallel Educational Services, which supports over 300 homeschooled students in Japan who study in English. About 35% of students come from missionary families, while the remaining 65% are from business and professional backgrounds. CAJ students represent over 25 nationalities, with many holding dual citizenships. The school has been accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) since 1976.
